About

Why does it seem like everything wants to kill us?

Microplastics, seed oils, refined sugars, VOCs, phthalates, glyphosate…the ick list goes on and on.

What happened to food made of actual…food? Clothes without plastic? Furniture without formaldehyde? Toiletries without toxins?

We scan the internet for the good stuff and tell you when it launches, when it’s on sale, and when it’s restocked.

How to Follow Us

We favor open, honest technology. This means we don’t like systems that coerce people into being tracked and exploited. As a simple example, this site has zero trackers on it.

So it should be no surprise that we don’t like modern social networks. We stick to open alternatives.

Nostr is a newer option, but if you’re more old-school, we do email and RSS.

About Nostr

Nostr is ick-free social networking.

Nostr is a new kind of social networking tool unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It’s an open protocol not owned by anyone. This means you can’t easily be deplatformed. It also means you get a lot less hysteria because there’s no one to benefit from it. Furthermore, because it’s an open system, there are several apps made by several parties (from established companies to industrious lone developers) so you’re never forced to use a single app if you don’t like something about it.

In short, it’s a breath of fresh air for digital media where people are generally positive, honest, and insightful. Some of the merchants we feature here hang out there. You’re more than welcome to join.

The easiest way is probably to sign up at https://primal.net. They have apps for iOS and Android as well.

About Bitcoin

Bitcoin is ick-free money.

Don’t confuse Bitcoin for “crypto”. Crypto is very, very icky. “Crypto” is a series of fly-by-night get-rich-quick affinity scams, harmfully exploiting the golden reputation of Bitcoin to dupe unsuspecting consumers. Bitcoin is an honest, world-changing tool that’s been running continuously for 16 years straight without a single major issue.

People, corporations, governments, and financial institutions around the world have finally begun to notice, and they are spending trillions of dollars to adopt Bitcoin for important long-term use cases involving savings, retirement, treasury, energy, etc.

There is no meaningful adoption of “crypto” to speak of.

Just as Bitcoin is meant to serve as a better money over the long term, many merchants who accept Bitcoin are oriented toward the long term as well. When you know your money won’t be worth less tomorrow than it is today, it becomes preferable to eschew the flashy and disposable in favor of the durable and dependable. Building for the future—true health, flourishing family, healthy kids, and happy communities—this becomes the ultimate goal.

The products Bitcoiners make often reflect this perspective, which is why you’ll find them on this site.
